Ewan McLennan
'I was completely and utterly bowled over by Ewan's music...I think this guy has got
an amazing voice, more than that he sings beautifully, with great sincerity, great empathy...
I think he's terrific!'
Mike Harding, BBC Radio 2, The Mike Harding Show
'Ewan has an amazingly mature choice of material and a highly distinctive voice, with superb guitar accompaniment.'
Terri Freeman, Davy Lamp Folk Club
'Outstanding singer and stunning guitar player. Organisers - book
this man!'
Dave Eyre, "Thank Goodness It's Folk", Sheffield Live Radio
'Ewan McLennan is another artist I first discovered playing live, so I know that the vocal dynamics on this album are no studio trick. This self
titled album really showcases the beauty of unaccompanied song. The way it holds a rhythm as well as words. There's an Irish feel to the album though it's not the accent, which is Scottish in the
core, it's more the style of delivery. There's an occasional bit of guitar to accompany some of the songs, but that only emphasises the voice. Ewan chose well known songs that court comparison and he
passes the test with flying colours.'
FATEA Magazine
'Ewan McLennan impressed everyone who saw him at the 2009 Gate To Southwell Folk Festival, with a confident set combining inspired versions of traditional
songs with splendid songwriting of his own. A terrific guitar player with the ability to enthral an audience with his unaccompanied voice, Ewan was an undoubted highlight.'
Gate to Southwell Folk Festival
'The final concert introduced to Saddleworth a young up and coming artist in Ewan McLennan. His beautiful voice and sensitive guitar arrangements to
traditional songs and his own lovely songs made him a firm favourite with the audience.'

'Don't you love it when you come across music that is new to
you and you find that it delights and excites you? I'm always chuffed when I stumble on a folk-nugget. I felt like that the first time I heard Julie Fowlis...A listener emailed me to say I should
listen to Ewan McLennan, a young Scottish singer and guitarist. So I did...the only way I can describe McLennan is as coming from the same stable as Dick Gaughan and Archie Fisher, while at the same
time being truly original. His voice is clear and strong with an appealing vibrato and his feeling for the narrative is strong and consistent. This is what the Irish call "the pure drop"...I'm sure
you'll like him.'
